Wikipedia is lame

I like Wikipedia and it can be useful in certain situations, but…..

Look at this.

“Daytona USA is the single highest grossing arcade game ever made; no game since has come close to selling as many units or receiving as much income for arcade owners.”

Look at the citation.

Nothing. There’s no basis for the above statement, but how people actually verify the information in Wikipedia with the cited material? (The record actually belongs to Pac-Man).
And what about the credibility of the cited material?

So what?

This is why people spew misinformed tidbits such as “West Edmonton Mall is run by gangs, don’t go there”. (Andreas you goofball) Then through word of mouth, everyone becomes misinformed. This is how urban legends and myths start.

I get the feeling that people are more inclinded to look something up in Wikipedia than an actual encyclopedia. Remember any Joe-blow can edit Wikipedia.

Don’t trust Wikipedia.
