Useful Keys

Microsoft Word

Ctrl+Delete – allows you delete entire words in one keystroke

Ctrl+D – brings up the font window allowing you to select the important “subscript” and “superscript” effects. Especially important for lab reports with all those damn chemical and mathematical equations. Then again, you could simply add the subscript and superscript buttons to your toolbar.

Holding shift allows you highlight text as if you were using a mouse. (This was really useful in high school, when an essay was due except my mouse was broken)

Microsoft Excel

Split screen - allows you split the screen.

Freeze panes - freeze panes allows you *always* see certain cells.

Auto filtering - self explanatory. It filters your stuff.
