Apple marketing is awesome redux

The other day I was surfing the net and somehow I stumbled back onto my blog. Lo and behold, I noticed that someone commented on my post about the ipod.

Portable hard drive? a) you need itunes and b) itunes only does music, videos and photos. Word doc? You're shit out of luck then my friend.

Extra capacity for travel? At 4 gigs, you have ~ 40 hours of music (@ 192 kbps). Even if you only listen to 50% of your mp3's again, that's 60 hours of music or 900 songs (@ 4 mins per song). A heavy music listener like Hanson Ho averages ~ 1200 songs a month so that would be enough music to last him for 3 weeks. Then again, the vacationer will most likely listen to less music (Otherwise why would you go on a vacation? To listen to your new music in a new locale? Oh boy)

To put things in perspective, you have enough music for 3 round trip flights between Vancouver and Hong Kong or 1.5 trips on the bus from Smithers to Vancouver. And that is only when you listen to music non-stop. Even if you only listen to music 75% of the time, you have enough for almost 4 round trip flights and 2 round trips on the bus.

Honestly, how many people a) have an ipod b) are heavy music listeners and c) are unable to access an itunes equipped PC for over 1 month?
