Avoid

Open office is awful.



Because of my stupidity, I forgot to back up my PC, so I didn't have access to my files or programs until the moving company delivered my stuff to my apartment.

So for the last 1.5 months, I've had to use open office for my word processing and spreadsheet needs. It's slower, has lame quirks (ie, according to writer, 'melee' is not a word) and insists on using its own irrelevant file formats.



MS Office is somewhere in this mess...
