Vegetables are bad for you

Why anyone tosses salad is beyond me.

You do realize what usually comes out of that hole, right?

Abandon ship!!!

Here's a recap for the unaware:

Since the end of October 2007, my company (Pope & Talbot) has been under the Canadian Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act. From what I understand, it's the equivalent of Chapter 11 in the states. If that doesn't make any sense, one just has to look at the share price to understand our current financial peril (here and here).

Current stock price = 0.03

Early 2008, there was an auction and the Sinar Mas Group purchased 3 of our mills. The original plan: one of the subsidiaries (Asia Pulp and Paper) was going run our mill. The ownership transfer was supposed to take place in the beginning of April, but it was pushed back to Apr 30.

Then shit hit the fan.

Now, I'm told to not come into work next monday and the mill will have a "soft" shut-down lasting 3-6 weeks. I have no idea what's going to happen next, but I wouldn't be surprised if a "hard" shut-down is next.

On the up and up, at least, it'll be easy answering the following question at my next job interview:

"Why did you leave your last job?"
