Week 1: New respect for women with menopause

The second time I went to the washroom after surgery I suddenly felt weak and nauseous. I slumped onto my walker, but I felt I was going to collapse any second. I called for the nurse and she brought over a chest sized ice pack and wheelchair. I broke into a head sweat and I felt like I was overheating. After a few moments, I was wheeled back to bed. Eventually my symptoms dissipated and I was back to normal, relatively speaking. The nurse told me that I had a hot flash caused by the anesthesia and me standing suddenly after laying down for an extended period of time.

I had drove to the surgery center in the morning, but I wasn't allowed to drive home because of the drowsiness induced by the pain medication. So I had to catch a cab home and will need a cab ride back to my car at some later date.

In general, I feel tired and achy. Normal tasks like taking a #2 is an ordeal for me because even movements like hopping on my good leg causes pain in my bad leg. I have a black brace with metal rods that secures my leg and adds stability. Ace bandanging covers my bed lag and a cryo cuff attachment and cuff is held in place by the bandaging. The attachment is a pain when I have to goto the washroom. The cyro cuff is a cuff you wear around your appendage that circulates cold water to help reduce any swelling.

Food supply is alright since I stocked up and I'm thinking I should be OK especially since I found out a grocery delivery service (whether it works is yet to be seen).
