Rehab: No more brace
I had two PT sessions last week. After a discussion with my PT after the first session, I was confident enough to walk around without my brace in my apartment. For the time being, I still wear the brace outside of the apartment. In only one week without the brace, my walking stride has gone from a foot length to a normal stride. Since I'm encourage to walk around without the brace at home, a few days ago I took my first shower without the bar stool. Some extra care is taken getting out of the tub.
Some areas adjacent to my main incision have been numb since the surgery. I am told that feeling should return within 3-6 months. I will supposedly have sudden jolts of pain every now and again because in the numbed area my nerves are firing off trying to regain feeling. So far I've only had one jolt of pain.
I returned the continuous passive motion machine since I don't need it anymore and I was accumulating daily charges. Turns out I own the cyro cuff and it will save me a couple bucks if I have future injuries (knock on wood).
