George Michael I am not

I saw a female cousin for the first time in 7 years and that previous encounter didn't have much interaction past "Thanks for coming to the wedding". Ok, I vaguely remember seeing my cousin at christmas 5 years ago, but I don't remember much interaction either.

However, this time we did have a chance to talk a little bit more. She was strangely very affectionate even though we haven't hung out since she was a teenager and I was still in the single digits.

"You've always been my favorite cousin"
"Uh what about [listing other cousins who lived in Smithers]?"
"You've always been my favorite cousin"
"Uhhhhh ok"

The hand holding and the fact that she seemed to want to kiss me while we were alone... kinda unsettling. She is married and has two kids after all. My imagination running wild.

Someday I'd like to visit her & my young 1st cousins once removed in Telkwa (15 km outside of Smithers). I have no other real reason to return there aside from high school reunion. With each passing day, the latter seems less and less likely.
