Week 2: Atrophy
Unlike the first couple of days where any unrelated movement caused left leg pain, this second week has gone much more smoothly. I don't have to use crutches anymore so I'm much more mobile. I'm able to bear weight on bad leg, but I'm wary of placing all of my weight on the bad leg for more than 2 seconds. I'm now using ice packs instead of the cryo cuff for convenience reasons. The cryo cuff is meant situations where there's a liberal amount of dressing preventing the heat transfer from any ice packs.
The leg lift exercises have become easy and boring. I should be able to move onto the next series of exercises when I see the PT. I think I've exceeded my flexion and extension targets at the post op 2 week mark, but I won't know for sure until both parameters are measured.
My bad leg has greatly atrophied this past week. Feeling the firmness of my right leg and then feeling the soft and pliable tissue in my bad leg. It's sad.
