If you’re like me, you’re probably anal retentive about mp3 organization. In that case, you’d find “Mp3 Tag Tools v1.2” to be a god-send.
It’s a really versatile program that allows you quickly edit a large number of mp3 ID3 tags in a few seconds.
When you open up the program, it displays info on each file (ie, filepath, title, filename, etc)
You could manually edit stuff like album name for each individual file, but you can select which ID3 tag section you want to modify.

You could change only the “Artist” section while leaving the other boxes untouched; for example, changing “Beatles” to “The Beatles” (yes, this is anal).

Personally, I like naming mp3 files as “track number (space) track title” because it retains the album track order and for track selection purposes, it allows me to read just enough info on my MP3 CD player. Luckily for me, there’s a custom file naming option.

The program also allows transfer from ID3v1.1 to ID3v2.x and vice versa. This transfer ability helps out for those files that only have ID3v1.1 tags; transferring to ID3v2.x is really important because it allows for much longer names than ID3v1.1. The program also allows the user to determine which tag sections he wants to transfer from ID3v1.1 to ID3v2.x and vice versa.

Finding it hard switching back and forth from the pictures and my post text? Well it wouldn’t be hard in Firefox, Opera, or some heavily modified IE browser. It’s your problem for not switching.
